The third weekend of 2013 Fall Mack Days fishing ended with a total of 6,777 lake trout entries turned in, which is 2,566 over the same weekends in 2012. Anglers were once again able to enjoy blue skies and calm waters as they fished Flathead Lake. Total for the third weekend-Friday-828, Saturday-1,034, and Sunday-598- was 2,460 lake trout. Mack Days continues until November 17th with fishing on Friday-Sunday until November 8th and then it is 10 continuous days of lake trout fishing. Up to $125,000 in Cash and Prizes will be awarded at the end of the event which is sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and sanctioned by Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. The events are used as a tool to reduce numbers of non-native lake trout in Flathead Lake. A lottery style drawing will be held on the last day with prizes from $1,000 to $100. All it takes is one ticket to win and there are several ways to win prizes including: captain’s prizes, ladies, youth, weekend prizes, top anglers, over 70, and more. Go to www.mackdays.com for information. Entries continue to be taken until the last day of the event.
