First Ever Large Scale “Active Shooter” Drill Scheduled in Bitterroot Valley

According to an article on montananewsnow.com, “Law enforcement and other emergency agencies will be busy in Corvallis Wednesday, as they stage one of the first large scale “active shooter” drills ever staged in the Bitterroot Valley.”  The drill will “simulate an active gunman on campus with injured victims”.

Police TrainingThe location is scheduled for Wednesday, October 23rd at Corvallis High School, beginning at 2pm, and will end at approximately 5pm. Marcus Daily Memorial Hospital, MDMH’s EMS program and the National Institute of Health’s Rocky Mountain Labs, along with officers from the Sheriff’s Department and the Corvallis Fire Department, will also participate in the drill.

This is the first drill at this large of a scale to ever be staged in the Bitterroot valley, and also note that the school will be vacant, as they have an early out that day.  Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman says to not be alarmed if you see emergency vehicles in the area.
