Chancy from Snappy’s
Chancy at Snappy’s says area fishing is still doing real well. McGregor Lake been getting some good reports on rainbows in that 2-5lbs range and also a few lake trout. Trolling flat fish and Lyman Plugs. Bitterroot Lake a few guys getting big rainbows trolling rainer boards, also picking up a few salmon. The Flathead River in the area is doing really good on Whitefish. The Mary Ronan still hitting pretty good on the perch mostly in that 30ft range. Flathead River Sloughs Fennon and Church, been getting good reports on pike. Been slow but the fish are getting pretty big. Try some of the deeper weed edges with smelt, Northern Pike minnows. If you want to catch some small pike Smith Lake is doing well. And Saturday October 19th Snappy’s is hosting seminars starting at 9am and they will be showcasing the new ice fishing gear for the season.

Leonard from Roberts Bait and Tackle
Leonard from Robert’s Bait and Tackle says everything is opened now. Campgrounds and ramps are all open. There’s been some nice walleyes caught 15, 12, and 10 with crank bait on Holter. On Francis still the only place to put in is out by the island because the water is pretty low. On Tiber the water is starting to go down, but folks can still use the boat ramps down by Bootlegger. Folks are getting some nice walleye, but in the deeper water 20-30 ft. The river is still really low. If you have any questions or need rod & reel repair call Leonard 406-454-1877.
