Bull Elk Poached East of Winnett

State game wardens are seeking information regarding the poaching of a bull elk east of Winnett in Petroleum County.

The poaching took place either late Nov. 12 or in the early morning hours of Nov. 13 in a field just off U.S. Highway 87 near mile marker 153, which is near the Cat Creek turnoff.

The carcass was discovered without both hindquarters, one front shoulder, both backstraps and the head.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 4 office in Great Falls, 454-5840; the FWP Lewistown office, 538-4658; or 1-800-TIPMONT. Informants are kept confidential and maybe eligible for a reward.
