Please be advised that conditions can change daily so please call the contact person in the area you are planning on FISHING for current daily information.  Weather is changing and some days wind can be a big factor.
Keep an eye on the weather while you are out there and stay safe.
Good luck fishing from the Montana Outdoor Radio Crew.

Rock Creek Marina-Bill 1-406-485-2560
The water has been rough.  We have had lots of wind.  Just no one out
because of it. The northerns are out there but they have gotten a reprieve
because no one has been out. Just waiting for ice. We will not be open for
a few months.  Bill has pulled all docks except the two courtesy docks. He
will have minimum services but if you need information leave a message on
the answering machine and he will try to get back to you.  He says he will
not be around but will be open when the ice comes in later.”

Tongue River Reservoir
Tongue River Marina  1-406-757-2225 Colton/Bob Pederson/Wardon Jordon
Talked to one fisherman who had not had any success. Everyone is saying
catching has slowed way down. A bit of very thin ice on the south end in
a low marshy area.   All the docks have been pulled and are not in. The
water is up 3 to 4 feet. The marina is closed for the year.

Clint Thomas- Hell Creek Marina 1-406- 557-2345
Hell Creek-Fort Peck Reservoir
Some hunters are throwing a line in during the middle of the day. Just a
few pike taken right now. A nice 24 inch lake trout was caught from Boy
Scott Camp area. The water by the marina has lots of jumping fish so off
shore is a good possibility for catching. They are out there. The weather
is turning colder.  We have no ice. The docks are still in.

Gene Moore Lake Ridge Motel 1-406-526-3597
Gene Moore, of Lake Ridge says,” lake trout are being caught at Bear
Creek. Guys are using jigs and cut minnows. A few walleyes are being
caught in the dredge cuts I have heard.”

Lake Elmo Billings
Not much results from shore right now. With the cold only a few fishermen
were out there.

Cooney Reservoir Jenny/ Maleri
Less rainbow trout being caught this week. Try getting them on the point
of Red Lodge Creek.  No ice yet.  The water will pretty much stay at the
level it is at now, ”Jenny says. All docks have been pulled. Camp spots
are first come first serve.

Deadmans/Martinsdale Justin
“Martinsdale fishing is good right now. Two pound trout are being caught
off the ramp and at the dam. Winter temps are helping the bite. Launching
a boat is hard and will be from now on,” Justin says.

Deadmans
Deadmans can only be accessed by the ramp not the dock because of very low
water. Fishermen have had poor results.

Yellowtail
Yellowtail is reporting some sauger being caught. The cold weather did
pick  up the bite.

Don’s Lewistown- Dale
“The challenge is fishing in a lot of wind. The wind off the river has
been terrible. There is still some tin ice on the ponds. Fishermen are
staying away. Everyone is waiting for ice ”, Charlie says.

Crooked Creek-Grant
The water is a long way out so boat launching is not possible. The marina
is not open.  It is closed but cabins are still available for other uses
just call 1-406-429-2999.

Minnow Bucket-Allen Camarillo 861-0156
“The river has cleared again. They are some small mouth of the average
size. Use crankbaits, jigs and minnows,” Allen says.

Silos Canyon Ferry-Sharon
Fishing rainbows and catching is still a possibility. If the weather is
warmer and not windy guys come out. You can catch walleye up north by the
dam.  They are catching trout from shore with just worms and a bobber for
trout and the usual variations of lures for walleyes.

Call us for information on the water at the Silos.  We will give you the
latest information. The docks are low. Be careful at Broadwater Bay.  Stay
to the north away from the sandbar near Gazebo 1.

West Side Sports Dan 1-406-654-1611
“The bite is slowing. We have had some nice days this week with no wind so
guys could get out. We are waiting for ice. The small ponds have thin ice.
Nelson has no ice.  If you fish there go deep using a jig and a minnow ”,
said Dan.

Forchette
A few Northern pike in shallow water. They are still biting.

Billings-Scheels Lucky
Lucky says,” I hear Fort Peck at the dry arm is doing goodfor northern
pike and walleye. Fishermen have said Barry’s by the Wyoming side has
slowed for sauger. This is when I am on the river.  It is the time to get
out there. The water is clear and you can fish from shore and boat.  Bass
fishing is great from Huntley to Waco.  They are biting and this is the
best bite of the year at Miles City.  Use cranks go deeper and look
forthem to be bunched up.  You can’t beat it! ”

Rich’s Tackle Richard
Few fish being caught at Canyon Ferry.  The experienced fisherman is
catching. The trout I doing good.

The rivers are up. Jefferson has a few trout being caught. Use crawlers at
30 feet from shore.

Stillwater Anglers-Chris 406-322-4977
Not much fishing going on. On the Stillwater nymphing should work.
Sometimes midges are working. You see few rising fish.  On the Yellowstone
streamers should work. Warmer weather will increase dry fishing success.
Continue to use blue wing olive.  You are going to want to fish from
shore.  Try late in the morning whe it has warmed up.  Our hours during
the week have changed in the shop and we are open Tuesday to Sat from 9 am
to 2 pm now. We are closed Sunday and Monday.

Fort Smith Trout Shop 666-2375 Rich
Fishing has been good. The lake turned over a couple of weeks ago so it is
a bit off color but it is good fishing.  We are seeing wet nymphing
working. Dry fly fishing has been great this week.  We are seeing tricots
working as are baetes. As for streamers some days they really work and
then the next they may not work at all. It is cold today and they say it
will be tomorrow but when it warms up the fishing should be really good.
They are predicting Fri and Sat being warmer. Our shop hours have changed
and we are open 7 am to noon.
