Fishermen:

Cold weather, no snow, and calm conditions have created the perfect combination for early ice fishing.

So far I’ve found Crow Reservoir and Turtle Lake both have good safe ice. East Bay is a little iffy but do- able on the shoreline.

Chancey Jescke from Snappys Sports Senter has been on McWeggener. Georgetown Lake is reported to have 18” of ice already.

On Crow I caught perch and Brown trout on a late evening one hour foray there. East Bay in the shallows had lots of small perch and my partner Brandon Dunkerson saw a lake trout. WE were restricted to a small area due to poor ice conditions. The extremely cold weather forecast for this coming week should change that to make most of the bay accessible. Turtle Lake is very low which has concentrated the perch, bass and an occasional trout to be caught.

Crow and McWeggener both have multi-possibilities. They each have large mouth bass, perch and pike. The differences in McWeggener are sunfish and black crappie. Crow has a variety of trout, browns and rainbow being predominate.
