MORS Weekly Wrap Up

The unusually warm weather this week has softened the ice around Montana, but ever-adapting anglers have figured out ways to get out and fish. The Captain was out fishing in open water earlier this week! He gathered current conditions on the Montana Outdoor Radio Show Saturday:

January 25th Fishing Conditions and Summaries

Bill Brown at Bob Wards says the ice is still thick on Brown’s Lake, and in Hamilton using your fish finder to find the schools in the water can help see the fish better. Clayton with the 2014 Montana Pike Masters Banquet is February 1st, tickets are still available 406-855-7236 Chancy at Snappy’s says there is the Thompson Chain of Lakes Derby going on.  The 2014 Perch Assault started this weekend on Smith Lake. Dale from Don’s in Lewistown says the ice is still good on Nelson and the fishing has been steady. Leonard from Robert’s Bait and Tackle says we’re losing the ice.  The Willow Creek Derby is a shore fishing on open water. Mary Beth Kibler of Kibler Outfitting says Hell Creek Marina is not safe to be on the main lake. Shelby says the Clark Canyon Derby was cancelled because of the ice is not safe. Tammy from Northwest Sports in Eureka says area fisherman are reporting perch on Slim Lake.Woody from Woody’s Lures in Townsend says White Sulphur Springs area water is still frozen.
