It has been a record breaking cold-weather week around Montana. But true to Montana spirit, we have toughed it out and hunkered down without too many complaints. And we have managed to find a positive side to wind chill factor; like thicker ice to fish on! In fact here are your current fishing reports from around the state for this week:

Bill Brown at Bob Wards: Pablo Reservoir, Ninepipes, and Kicking Horse folks are catching some nice perch.

Chancy at Snappy’s:  most of the lakes are pretty locked up now from the last cold snap.

Dallas at Highline Cleaners in Chester: Tiber has had big Northerns caught, for more information call the Cleaners at 406-759-5265 in the daytime.

Leonard from Robert’s Bait and Tackle: ice is back up with cold weather snap.  The Valier Fire Department is having their Annual Fishing Derby at Lake Francis February 15th from 7am to 3pm. Francis froze back up, but may not be safe in some areas.

Ron Aashiem: this week the Commission will set final hunting seasons for the Biennium. For more information go to www.fwp.mt.gov and under hunting is more information on the meetings.

Tammy from Northwest Sports in Eureka: cold weather has Frozen the lake over very quickly. Ryan Wagner memorial Tournament is February 15th on Murphy Lake.
