Montana Fishing Reports 2/15/14

Looking like we will get a little break in the weather this weekend, meaning it will be a great weekend to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. Find out the latest fishing reports from across the treasure state.

February 15th Summaries
-Bill Brown at Bob Wards says Georgetown Lake is doing really well on salmon, and Up by Pablo Reservoir, Ninepipes, reports of over 200 perch up there the past weekend on rocker jigs.
Brett French Outdoor editor of the Billings Gazette talks shop with the Captain, and this week’s Editorial.
Chancy at Snappy’s says with this last cold snap most of the lakes are pretty locked up now.
-Dale from Don’s in Lewistown says there is a lot of action going on at Ft Peck.
-Dallas at Highline Cleaners in Chester says Tiber has been producing Northerns and perch, for more information call the Cleaners at 406-759-5265 in the daytime.
-Gene Fincher the Happy Hooker talks about the last week of the 11th Annual Perch Pounder.
-John Harris from Lakeside Resort in Trout Creek says they still have ice, and folks are catching pike and perch.
Leonard from Robert’s Bait and Tackle says the ice is back up with all this cold weather snap. The Valier Fire Department is having their Annual Fishing Derby at Lake Francis February 15th from 7am to 3pm
Francis froze back up, but may not be safe in some areas.
-Mary Beth Kibler of Kibler Outfitting says has reports of some good ice, and Northerns are being caught
-Ryan from Bob Wards says in the Bozeman & Butte area mark your calendar for special elk and deer permits due march 15th, and in Helena Mountain Lion season is in full swing through April 14th.
-Ron Aashiem describes the bi-annual season changes for hunting. For more information go to www.fwp.mt.gov and under hunting is more information on the meetings.
-Shelby says the weather has been a bit inconsistent and they haven’t really received the big storm they were expecting.
-Tammy from Northwest Sports in Eureka says Murphy Lake is the place to with the tournament going on.
