Montana Fishing Reports 2/8/14

With the recent cold spell hitting the state, the ice has gotten a little better for fishing. Hear the latest fishing reports from around the treasure state, with audio reports from the most recent edition of the Montana Outdoor Radio Show.

Bill Brown at Bob Wards says Whitefishing will be tough with the rivers froze, but Brown’s Lake is catching fish off the bottom.  Up by Pablo Reservoir, Ninepipes, and Kicking Horse folks are catching some nice perch.
Brett French Outdoor editor of the Billings Gazette talks shop with the Captain, and this week’s Editorial.
Chancy at Snappy’s says with this last cold snap most of the lakes are pretty locked up now. 
Dale from Don’s in Lewistown says the cold has made ice, but Foreshed and Devils Creek has been good.
Dallas at Highline Cleaners in Chester says Tiber has had some big Northerns caught, for more information call the Cleaners at 406-759-5265 in the daytime.
Gene Fincher the Happy Hooker talks about the 11th annual Perch Pounder & is headed to McGregorLake.
John Harris from Lakeside Resort in Trout Creek says Saturday February 8th kicks off the 23rd Annual Cabinet Ridge Riders Poker Run.  
Leonard from Robert’s Bait and Tackle says the ice is back up with all this cold weather snap.  The Valier Fire Department is having their Annual Fishing Derby at Lake Francis February 15th from 7am to 3pm Francis froze back up, but may not be safe in some areas.
Ron Aashiem says this week the Commission will set final hunting seasons for the Biennium. For more information go to www.fwp.mt.gov and under hunting is more information on the meetings.
Shelby says they have snow and this past week it was slow for ice fishing. 
Tammy from Northwest Sports in Eureka says the cold weather has Frozen the lake over very quickly. Tammy also describes the Ryan Wagner memorial Tournament is February 15th on MurphyLake
