Montana Fishing Reports 3/29/14

As the ice starts to turn into open water, the time to take advantage of the amazing spring fishing is here. Hear the latest fishing reports from around the state from the Montana Outdoor Radio Show.

Bill Brown at Bob Wards says the ice on Browns Lake is still holding up. In the Hamilton area the Bitterroot River is doing great just above the Darby area.
Brett French Outdoor editor of the Billings Gazette says talks about this week’s Editorial.
Chancy at Snappy’s says nothings really changed from last week and they are still ice fishing on Bitterroot Lake for those walking and not riding.

Dallas at Highline Cleaners in Chester says there still people going on the ice but be careful. For those jigging the Willow Creek Arm is the place to be. For more information call the Cleaners at 406-759-5265 in the daytime.
Dale at Dons in Lewistown says there is some Spring action on Spring Creek with guys nymphing.
John Harris from Lakeside Resort in Trout Creek says the reservoir this last week has been good.
Leonard from Robert’s Bait and Tackle says the ice is not safe anywhere.
Mary Beth Kibler of Kibler Outfitting says be careful out there, and wait for the ice to finish melting.
Rob of the Ronan Sports and Western says the Northern Pike fishing is doing well on the Lower Flathead river down below Kerr Dam and the reservation line.
Ron Aashiem reminds us the license year started March 1st so you have to have your fishing license to go fishing. And bear hunting opens April15th . For even more information go online to www.fwp.mt.gov and under hunting is more information on the meetings.
Ryan from Bob Wards says in the Bozeman area the Upper Madison is hit or miss, but the Lower Madison has some fantastic fishing. In the Helena area the ice on Canyon Ferry Lake has pulled away from the shores so you can try snap jigging in the open areas.
Tammy from Northwest Sports in Eureka says Petroff Lake is totally open, and Glen Lake still has ice but it is not safe..
Trevor Johnson of Kit’s Tackle shares his tips for Walleye fishing and jigging.
