“Well, it’s called the ‘Tough Guy’ for good reasons…..Ice, cold, rain, wind, finally some sun on Saturday,” said Pat Slater about the Jordan Tough Guy Walleye Tournament.  He and his partner did quite well in the tournament, reeling in a walleye that weighed in at over eight pounds.

Here is what Pat had to say about the fishing conditions:

My partner and I tied for 4th place, out of 46 teams, with 8 lbs. 13 ounces.  An ice sheet that extended shore to shore near Cabin Coulee blocked the way to the west.  Water temps where 39 to 42 depending on where you were… We found just enough fish that were on the edge of starting spawn and the bite should begin this coming week in the Missouri River arm out of Hell Creek.

Got a good start to the season, hope it continues.

Great job to Pat and his partner from the Montana Outdoor Radio Show crew!
