Getting Around the Big Sky State

How do you prefer to get around our beautiful state?  Do you like your pickup?  Are you most comfortable on your horse?  Maybe you have a sports car?  Are you a pilot like montanaoutdoor.com’s Outdoor Aly?  Or maybe you have a motorcycle?

For me, a motorcycle is the way to go.

BeFunky_20140401_173709[1].jpgSome people dig the cruisers, as they definitely get points for comfort, but some people are die hard sports bike fans.  I have always been about the cruisers, as I just love that rumble, and they are just awesome overall.  But, then I got on a Kawasaki Ninja a few years ago, and my life changed.  Never had I ever even given consideration to getting a sport bike until that moment.  I loved it, and I decided I had to get one.

For the last couple of months, I searched craigslist, googled used Ninjas and looked high and low for a used Kawasaki Ninja 650 that was affordable and had fairly low mileage.  I stopped by Big Sky Motorsports, on a whim, to check out their bikes.  I had already spent time on every motorcycle shop’s website, constantly searching through their used inventory, so I kind of figured they wouldn’t have any used Ninja 650s, but I had to check in person.

Long story short, there just happened to be a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja they had gotten THAT DAY on trade-in with not even 3,200 miles on it and an awesome after-market Two Brother pipe that gave it that rumble that I love on cruisers!  I was also pretty stoked that the sales guy, Nate Bertland, the same sales guy that sold me my very first dirt bike five years prior, sold me my very first sport bike, too…and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for…

So, basically, to summarize, regardless of how you prefer traveling the state, using YOUR favorite method of transportation gives you a high that you can’t get anywhere else, so I recommend you stick with what makes you happiest.  Nothing, for me, can top my Ninja, and I’ve barely gone anywhere on it yet!  Also, if you’re looking for any type of street bike, dirt bike, UTV or even a Timbersled, head to Big Sky Motorsports and ask for Nate!  Both of the bikes I have bought from them have been dream come trues for me.  I’m looking forward to putting a whole bunch of miles on my Ninja this year with nothing to separate me from the beauty that IS Montana.  Open road, fresh air (when it isn’t smoky) and big sky scenery.  It just doesn’t get better than that.
