Montana Fishing Reports 4/5/14

Looking at some decent spring weather this weekend. If you are looking to get outside and catch some fish, hear the latest fishing reports for the entire Treasure State, from the April 5th edition f the Montana Outdoor Radio Show.

April 5th Summaries
Bill Brown at Bob Wards says area fishing is still doing well, but Georgetown is closed. BrownsLake there is still ice, but be careful the incoming warmer weather will have and effect on it. In Hamilton, fishing the Bitterroot River skwalas are starting to crawl around on the rocks and doing well.
Chancy at Snappy’s says they are finally getting open water and McWinneger Slough is open. Chancy caught a few pike and some croppy in there last week.
Charlie from Don’s in Lewistown says Spring Creek is starting to fish really well.
Rob from Ronan Sports and Western says the Lower Flathead River is producing pike, and brown trout.
Ron Aashiem reports on the 2013 wolf count with a minimum of 627wolves, 152 packs, and 28 breeding pairs as compared to the 625 in 2012 and 556 in 2010. For even more information go online to www.fwp.mt.gov and under hunting is more information on the meetings.
Ryan from Bob Wards reminds us of the start of turkey season and in the BozemanButte areas the Upper Madison is hit or miss. In Helena, the ice on CanyonFerryLake has pulled away from the shores so ice fishing has pretty much wrapped up for CanyonFerryLake.
