Members of the public are reminded that during any other times of the year outside the fall hunting seasons, separate landowner permission is needed to access private lands enrolled in Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ Region 6 Block Management Program.

In FWP Region 6, Block Management contracts run from Sept. 1 to Dec. 31. For public access to these properties during all other times of the year, additional permission from the owners is required to do anything on their land.

During the specific Block Management contract periods, public hunting for big game, upland birds, waterfowl and turkeys is allowed if it is not restricted by the access agreements reached between FWP and individual landowners. For more information about the program, call the FWP Region 6 office in Glasgow at 406-228-3700 or the agency’s Havre office at 406-265-6177.
