Brown’s Lake fishing report by Ladd Knotek of Montana FWP:

Trolling with small crank baits and still fishing with a crawler/power bait both produced a few fish early in the morning on Brown’s Lake (fishing from boat).  Other anglers appeared to be catching fish sporadically on cowbells and other trolling rigs.  Switched over to fly fishing in mid morning and action was decent until ~1 pm with midge larvae – caught 9-10 fish in the 15-18 inch range and some smaller stockers.  Other fly anglers were doing well on nymphs when we left at 1:00 as the midge hatch was getting thicker.  Fishing in the 8-12 ft depth range.  Weather was cold and breezy – made it tough. Best to shoot for calmer, warmer, overcast days for ideal conditions.
