Canyon Ferry:  The spring rainbow trout bite has been excellent throughout the reservoir, especially on the north end. Shoreline anglers continue to have success at traditional access points using worms, spawn, Powerbait or various bead head nymph patterns.  Boat anglers are doing well on the north end of the reservoir while anchored and casting to shore or trolling cowbells tipped with worms in 5 to 25 feet of water. Fishing remains slow for walleye, yellow perch or ling with the current limited boat launch conditions.  Proceed with caution.  Adam Strainer, FWP, Helena

Hauser:  Rainbow fishing is good from both shore and boat.  Shore fishing is best at York Bridge and Riverside while using Marabou jigs.  Boat anglers are finding rainbows while trolling cowbells or spoons around Black Sandy and the Causeway.  Lake Helena walleye fishing was slow this past weekend.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Holter:  Really good rainbow fishing can be found while trolling silver crankbaits throughout the reservoir.  The hot spot is from Split Rock to Holter Dam.  A few rainbows are still being caught from shore at the ramps, however, the spawn is slowing down and fish are moving off shore.  Walleye fishing is slow.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
