Hunting:

We’re rolling through spring bear and turkey. Please review your regulations for specific details on the areas you plan on hunting. Bring those trophy pictures down and post them on are bulletin board.

Fishing:

Canyon Ferry Lake: The Lake is really low. Duck pond 1 has been pretty successful for walleye fishing. Try throwing some floating jigs tipped with night crawlers or some perch or rainbow colored Rapalas. If you want to fish off the shore, the rainbows have been biting. We recommend walking the coves and throwing some leeches at carp or trout you see.

Holter Lake: Trout fishing has been picking up but so has the pressure on them. Try throwing some jigs tipped with a leech. For walleye, try throwing some wedding rings tipped with a leech or a perch colored Rapala.

Missouri River: Water flows have been slowly rising but reports haven’t changed. Below the dam at Canyon Ferry is the ticket right now. We recommend throwing some spoons or egg sacks, which have been getting some decent hits. For fly fisherman, try throwing some UV wire San Juan worms or some heavy Czech nymphs, you might want to use some split shot or weighted line to get deep. For dry flies, trying throwing some midges or Skwalas in the evenings at risers…but dry flies have been pretty inconsistent.
