Fishermen:

June 20th Brandon Dunkerson caught a mess of monster perch while fishing for bait fish on the west side of Polson Bay near the North Point of Maries Cove.  He was using a standard bait fishing set up which is 2 snelled hooks above a bottom weight baited with night crawlers.

You can look forward to an improved whitefish bite because the perch in Flathead Lake proper are well on their way to recovery after the kill off that happened several years ago.  Note: Whitefish feeding on small perch fry enables fishermen to offer them imitation that they’ll hit.  Without this occurrence the whitefish are impossible to catch with any consistency.

The perch fry begin to move towards the shallows near the 3rd week in July.
