Canyon Ferry: Rainbow trout continue to be caught throughout the reservoir. Shoreline anglers are doing well using worms and/or marshmallows at traditional access points. Boat anglers are catching some rainbows trolling attractors, tipped with worms, in 20-25 feet of water. The walleye bite has been consistent throughout the reservoir. Anglers are doing well trolling in 8 to 35 feet of water using worm harnesses (orange, green and pink), tipped with worms or leeches, or while vertical jigging bay points. Hauser: Rainbow fishing is slow with a few being caught below Canyon Ferry Dam from shore on worms or from a boat while trolling crankbaits. Walleye are being caught in the Causeway on a slip bobber with a leech, Lake Helena on dark crankbaits or below Canyon Ferry Dam on jigs with a leech. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
Holter: The rainbows have gone into deeper water, but good fishing can still be found while trolling cowbells throughout the reservoir; especially from Split Rock to Holter Dam. Perch are being caught everywhere throughout the reservoir in 6 to 15 feet deep. Walleye are being caught around Mann Gulch, Cottonwood Creek and the clay banks in the lower reservoir.
