Annual Montana Atlatl Mammoth Hunt Aug. 30 – Sept. 1

Come try your hand at an ancient form of hunting! The atlatl is a 10,000-year-old type of weapon that predates the bow and arrow. Regional members of the World Atlatl Association in conjunction with First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park will provide visitors with the chance to learn about and practice with this unique weapon. Visitors will also have the opportunity to shoot primitive bows and throw tomahawks and knives. 

When: Saturday, August 30 through September 1. 
9am-5pm 

Where: First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park – Visitor Center, 342 Ulm Vaughn Road, Ulm, MT 59485. 

The park is 3.5 miles north of Ulm, just off of Interstate 15 at Exit 270.
