Furbearers provide clothing & accessories, food, organic fertilizer, medicines, and other biodegradable products.  Sound wildlife management programs ensure the necessary supply of natural wild fur for today’s needs and those of tomorrow. (Information via nationaltrappers.com)

Trappers are an important part of wildlife management in Montana and beyond, and for that reason, there will be a Bitterroot Area Trapper Appreciation Camp-Out on Saturday, August 30th – 31st up the East Fork at Meadow Creek.  (From Hwy 93, take East Fork Rd for 12.5 miles, then take a right onto Meadow Creek Lane for five miles)

The camp-out will include LIVE MUSIC (modern bluegrass), a trappers saloon with a whiskey bar, burgers provided, shooting competitions, trap-setting competitions, games for the kids and MORE FUN!  Meet fellow trappers and supporters of trappers in the area, and bring the whole family to enjoy a night of being appreciated for FREE!  Attendees are encouraged to become a member of the Montana Trappers Association, as your $30.00 membership donation to the MTA will be applied toward “working today for a tomorrow in trapping”.  Let your voice be heard as an MTA member.

So, mark your calendars for this weekend, get the camp trailer or tents ready and head to the Bitterroot Area Trapper Appreciation Camp-Out!
