Buck Down…Buck Up…Buck Down

As we all know, bow season is around the corner–31 days from today, to be exact– and rifle season isn’t really that far away either. It is a good thing to remember that the ungulates we are hunting have some very sharp tines and hooves, so you must always be prepared.  Here is the description that was posted with this video:

This buck was taken legally and on public land. Rick was able to fill his freezer with over 100+ lbs of meat. While it is okay to be happy and excited for being patience , this video shows why it is important to be careful while approaching an animal after the shot.

This is a buck we had been seeing on the cameras for a few days. Rick made the shot with a .50 cal muzzle loader and he dropped in his tracks. But that was not the end of the story, always check to make sure they are dead before you grab the rack!

Has anything similar to this ever happened to you?  I must say, he sure is a nice buck.
