Captain’s Recent Fishing Trip Proves Flathead Lake Lakers are Booming

Captain and Jim Swanson from Polson hit the water again Tuesday They were after the famous mackinaw of Flathead lake They started out fishing in 88 feet of water. Fishing was slow but then after a couple of hours Jim Swanson ended up catching a couple of smaller lake trout in suspended water of 60 feet. The captain then hooked a lake trout at 88 feet and while he was reelling that lake trout in the rod that was positioned at 60 feet hooked another lake trout both of these lake trout were large Mackinaw. For the day Swanson in the Captain ended up with five lake trout all were caught on the whole bait set up using the Pike minnow. They fished from 830 in the morning till 145 in the afternoon they made it in just in time before a brief afternoon thunderstorm hit the Flathead Lake area near Polson
