Canyon Ferry:  Some rainbow trout are being caught near the Dam, around Cemetery Island and mid reservoir trolling attractors/flashers, tipped with worms, or using worms from shore.  The walleye bite has been excellent with continued consistent weather patterns and warmer water temperatures. Fish the south end of the reservoir by trolling worm harnesses (with worms or leeches), crankbaits or slow death rigs (with worms or Gulp! Worms) and try jigging bay points (orange or perch colors), in 5 to 45 feet of water, from mid reservoir to the Dam. Walleye tend to move to deeper water this time of year, but the bite remains very good on the shallow south end.  A few yellow perch are being caught while chasing walleye.  Adam Strainer, FWP, Helena

Hauser:  Rainbow fishing has slowed down with some action happening around Black Sandy while trolling cowbells 20 to 25 feet deep in the mornings.  Fair numbers of rainbows are being caught from shore at Riverside on worms or marshmallows and from boat while jigging with worms or trolling olive colored crankbaits.  Walleye fishing has gotten inconsistent with good catches some days and poor fishing on others.  Those catching walleye are in the Causeway while using bottom bouncers and a crawler.  The Causeway Bridge area has produced a few walleye from shore while using a jig and worm combination. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Holter:  Rainbow fishing is good in the lower reservoir from Split Rock to Holter Dam while trolling cowbells or perch colored crankbaits 20 to 25 feet deep in the mornings. Shore fishing for rainbows is slow.  Walleye fishing is getting good with the best catches occurring at night throughout the reservoir while using jigs and worms in 8 to 20 feet of water.  The best walleye action is occurring around Split Rock, Cottonwood Creek and the Sleeping Giant area.   Perch are everywhere with most fish being 7 to 8 inches in length.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
