Lewistown celebrates the culture of cowboy poetry next week at the 29th Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Western Music Rendezvous, Aug. 14-17.

Award winning Montana Cowboy Poetry is a celebration of “everything cowboy.” Over 100 cowboy poets, western musicians and artist/vendors from the upper Rocky Mountain west and Canada gather every August to share their poetry, songs and wares in Lewistown, a little cow town on the high plains.

The gathering’s headliner is Sons of the San Joaquin, known for their rich harmonies and cowboy songs. The trio performs very few live shows — the engagement in Lewistown is the only one listed on their website.

The Gathering is the 2nd oldest gathering in the country. Features include a welcome BBQ, over fifty hours of scheduled poetry and music, the Western Art & Gear Vendor Show, a cowboy poetry dinner train, a Jam ‘n Dance, a Starlight Street Dance, the Grand Stage Show Saturday night and Sunday morning cowboy church. We’re “Keepin’ it Cowboy!”

Ticket information, schedule and more available at www.MontanaCowboyPoetryGathering.com or call at 406-538-4575.
