If you are a skier or snowboarder you can look forward to some new access to powder and terrain at Whitefish Mountain this winter! The resort is in the final stages of constructing the new Flower Point triple chair lift that travels 3,486 feet, including 970 feet of vertical rise.

The Whitefish Resort website has stats for the Flower Point Chairlift – New for 2014-15 Ski Season:

• Additional 200 acres
• Intermediate groomable runs
• Expert tree skiing
• Northern aspect for reliable early/late season snow
• Creates a new “pod” of skiing

Resort spokesperson Riley Polumbus, the new lift will operate daily during the ski season, similar to Chair 7, which is located only a few hundred yards from the bottom of the Flower Point lift. With a capacity of 1,500 people per hour, the lift will grant easy access to six fresh-cut intermediate runs, as well as the lift line.

According to a recent Whitefish Pilot article:

Six new ski runs were cut off Flower Point last year, named after locations in Glacier Park, including North Fork, Whiskey Spring, Big Creek, Inside Road, Outside Road, and Hidden Meadow.
