Canyon Ferry:  Rainbow trout fishing has been consistent using attractors (cowbells, dodgers or flashers) on the north end of the reservoir. Shoreline anglers are doing excellent using worms, spoons and woolly buggers from shore at Magpie Bay and other east shore access points.  The walleye bite remained steady as the water temperature continues to cool.  Try fishing 20 to 45 feet of water trolling worm harnesses (with worms or leeches), crankbaits or slow death rigs (with worms) and try jigging bay points (orange, green or silver) from mid reservoir to the Dam. Some yellow perch continue to be caught.  Adam Strainer, FWP, Helena

Hauser:  Rainbow fishing is good while trolling cowbells or dark colored wooly buggers between White Sandy and York Bridge and in the Causeway.  Shore anglers are catching rainbows at the Causeway Bridge and Riverside on Powerbait, worms or wooly buggers.  A few small walleye are being caught in the Causeway and at Riverside on jigs tipped with a worm. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Holter:  Rainbow fishing is good with the best action happening around Gates of The Mountains while trolling yellow crankbaits or egg sacks. A few rainbows are being caught between Split Rock and Holter Dam while trolling cowbells.  Shore fishing for rainbows is slow.  Walleye and perch continue to provide good action, especially around the Oxbow Bend area on jigs and worms.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir:  The snagging season for Kokanee Salmon opened on September 1st and will run through October 31st.  Limits are 35 salmon daily with 70 in possession.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
