Canyon Ferry:  Rainbow trout has picked up using attractors (cowbells, dodgers or flashers) on the north end of the reservoir. Shoreline anglers are doing excellent using worms, spoons and woolly buggers from shore at Magpie Bay.  The walleye bite picked back up past week as the water temperature cools.  Try fishing 20 to 45 feet of water trolling worm harnesses (with worms or leeches), crankbaits or slow death rigs (with worms or Gulp! Worms) and try jigging bay points (orange or perch colors) from mid reservoir to the Dam. Some yellow perch are being caught.  Adam Strainer, FWP, Helena

Hauser:  Rainbow fishing is good while trolling cowbells between White Sandy and York Bridge.  Shore anglers are catching rainbows at the Causeway Bridge and Riverside on worms or dark streamer flies.  A few small walleye are being caught in the Causeway and Lake Helena on jigs tipped with a worm. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Holter:  Rainbow fishing has slowed down a bit with the best action happening around Gates of The Mountains while trolling cowbells tipped with a worm. Shore fishing for rainbows is slow.  Walleye fishing has been decent around Cottonwood Creek, Split Rock and the Oxbow Bend areas on jigs and worms.  Perch continue to provide great action especially in 8 to 12 feet of water in bays or around weeds.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir:  The snagging season for Kokanee Salmon opened on September 1st and will run through October 31st.  Limits are 35 salmon daily with 70 in possession.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
