Montana’s wolf hunting season opened September 6th for archery hunters, while rifle season for Montana wolves opened on September 15th. As of September 28th, there have been 13 wolves harvested within the state, with the most wolves taken from Wolf Management Unit 390. Montana’s wolf trapping season opens on December 15th.
