Matt Mackinaw joined the Captain on Holter Reservoir during the past few days. The weather was great, and the fishing was just like the weather. Everyone seemed to be catching trout.Jim Ault from Missoula was using  cowbells and a firetiger wedding ring tipped with a crawler. The Captain and Matt Mackinaw caught most of their fish on a J-7 firetiger and orange/white rapalas were working very well. They also used Macks Lure Wally Pop orange with black specs smiley blade tipped with a nightcrawler. They long lined the rapalas out 100 feet with monofilament and went 9-12 feet deep with the downriggers.
When they fished leaded line, they went 2 and 1/2 colors to the water.Trolling speed was 2 miles per hour. They fished around mostly between Split Rock and Log Gulch campground, close to shore.
