Two Cow Elk Poached Northeast of Winnett

State game wardens are seeking information regarding the poaching of two cow elk northeast of Winnett in Petroleum County.

The poaching took place between 7-10 a.m., Oct. 27. The cow elk were shot and left on Blood Creek Road near Dovetail Creek in hunting district 410.

Another elk was shot and taken, says Montana Fish and Game warden Shawn Briggs. A witness saw a red pickup truck at the scene, Briggs says.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Briggs, (406) 366-4800, the FWP Lewistown office, 538-4658, or 1-800-TIPMONT. Informants are kept confidential and maybe eligible for a reward.
