As trapping technology expands so do trapping opportunities.

The New York Senate Committee on Environmental Conservation has approved legislation that will allow cable restraints to be used by trappers in the northern part of New York State.

SB 548 sponsored by Senator Mark Grisanti (R-North Buffalo) passed with no opposition as the final 13-0 tally showed. According to the United States Sportsmen’s Alliance director of state services; “This bill is a step in the right direction toward allowing trappers the freedom to use all available technology.”

As other states realize the importance of trapping as part of sound conservation practices, trapping opportunities are expanding and so is the technology available to trappers.
