There is a $2500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two men that broke into eight storage units in Seeley Lake on December 12th around 4-5am.  The two men are described to be younger, with one being in his 20s with a “dark scruffy beard”.  They were driving two vehicles, one was a blue or black, small extended cab truck–not a Chevy or Ford–possibly an Isuzu or Mazda with Washington plates.  The other vehicle was a brown or maroon older Chevy Suburban, possibly with a darker stripe and unknown plates.

Among the items that were stolen, here are some of the things that was taken from one storage unit customer:

  • 6×6 bull elk shoulder mount
  • 6×7 bull elk shoulder mount
  • 42-inch Shirus/Montana moose shoulder mount
  • 5-point bull elk mounted plaque
  • 2 European-mounted 6×6 bull elk skulls
  • Autographed and framed Joe Montana 49ers jersey

The thieves ended up cutting off the antlers and ditching the heads on the Seeley Lake Water District Road, just north of Seeley Lake around 6am.

If you have any information on these two men or the incident, please contact Deputy Heath Hanson or the Missoula County Sheriff’s Department at 406.258.4810.
