When fishing for awesome fish like steelhead, trout, walleye… Any fish really it’s important to keep your lure in the water as long as possible.  Pre- tying and storing leaders is a great way to spenders time on the bank rigging up.

Good organization helps like tying leaders and keeping them readily available.  A wine cork, styrofoam bobber or any conveniently sized material that won’t dull your hooks can be re-used to keep hooks out of the way and leaders ready to re-tie at a moments notice.

Simply push the hook points into the foam and wrap the line around it.  A piece of tape or rubber bands will keep the leaders in good shape and readily available.

Preparation like this before hitting the lakes and rivers will get you back to fishing sooner after a break- off or when your hooks and leaders show signs of wear.
