Hunting: Spring Bear seasons are in full swing. Gopher season is exploding right now with the grass still short enough to see them but long enough to get them out of their holes. Don’t forget to come in and get some .22 shells before you go out. Don’t forget that Antelope, Deer B, and Cow applications are due by June 1st. If you had a great season make sure to bring pictures down of your successful hunts or catches and post them on our bulletin board.

Fishing: Streams opened last week and with the warm weather we’ve had dry fly fishing couldn’t be better for the opener.

Missouri River: It’s a great time to be fishing the Mo. Caddis are starting to take off especially from Craig on down. The upper river is still hitting with BWOs in the mornings. For dry fly fishing we’d recommend bringing along some Elk Hair Caddis, X-Caddis, and BWOs; for nymphing bring along some Caddis Pupas, Scuds, and some San Juan’s.

Canyon Ferry Lake: The trout have been fishing well especially on the north-end of the lake. From shore try throwing some worms or spawn sacks. Boaters were doing well trolling cowbells or other harnesses in the shallows as well. Walleye fishing has been a bit hot and cold lately but if the water warms up Walleye should start picking up in the shallows by the duck ponds. Don’t hesitate to give it a go because it should start to take off soon!
