North American Long Bow Safari Scheduled July 4-5

The 33rd annual  Long Bow Safari will be hosted in Alberta by the Rocky Mountain Longbow Association (RMLA) and the Alberta Traditional Bowhunters Associatiom .

When!! July 4th & 5th 2015.
Where!! The location will be in the rolling ranch country 30 minutes southwest of Calgary, Alberta.
Stuart & Ruby Sinclair-Smith have graciously offered the use of their property for this event. This site was used for the safari in 2011 and is a fantastic location with an abundance of challenging terrain and beautiful scenery.

Rule Changes for 2015 The Rocky Mountain Longbow Assoc. has amended some of the rules regarding equipment used at the safari as well as rules governing the 3D course(s). These are changes for the 2015 N.A.L.S. ONLY and will be reviewed at a later date to determine which will be accepted as permanent.
3 piece longbows with wood risers are permitted, String must not touch limbs between nocks.
NO minimum draw weight.
NO shooting on the 3D course(s) except during designated shooting times.
Course “A” ONLY fieldpoints are permitted, Broadheads are forbidden.
Course “B” Broadheads or fieldpoints maybe used.

BBQ Dinner. BBQ tickets will not be available at shoot. Please include payment with your registration.
SUNDAY, July 5th, 2015 30 3-D Target, Trail Shoot
Raffles, Novelty Awards and Passing the Hat
**Please, NO alcohol or smoking on courses or while shooting novelties events**

EQUIPMENT
Bows Longbows ONLY with traditional or reverse handles or 3 piece longbows with wood risers, String must not touch limbs between nocks. NO elevated rests allowed. NO minimum draw weight.
Arrows Wood shafting, feather fletch and two blade broadheads only for trail & novelty animals. Flu-Flu with field points for bow birds.

Camping
Available from Thursday, July 2 through Monday, July 6th.
Dry camping only – no sewer, water or electric hook ups will be available.
Drinking water and toilets will be available.
Please ensure your children are supervised at all times.
Pets MUST be leashed at all times.
Mosquitoes may be an issue so be prepared.
Practice shooting in designated area only.
No campfires, shooting of firearms or fireworks
This is BEAR country, be aware!!

Commercialism & Display of Equipment
Persons are encouraged to display and sell traditional archery equipment and related accessories.
You must be registered for the shoot in order to display any items for sale, even those housed at your or another vendor’s campsite.
Limited discrete and tasteful signs allowed.
No electronic display (video) allowed.
Nothing using the NALS name or logo may be made or sold except by host club or Rocky Mountain Longbow Association.
Only the host club is authorized to sell NALS branded apparel and Merchandise, which will be available on site.
Vendors must provide their own tables and chairs
