Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks will close the Alberton Gorge section of the Clark Fork River beginning Monday, Aug. 31between Cyr and Tarkio Fishing Access Sites due to fire activity.

The West Fork Fish Creek Fire is burning in the immediate vicinity, posing human safety concerns and a need to keep people out of the area while crews use the river water for fire suppression efforts.

Cyr Bridge, Triple Bridge, Ralph’s Takeout and Tarkio access sites are all closed. The river and access sites will reopen as soon as fire activity subsides.
