Bobcat Hunting and Trapping Closed in Districts 1 and 2
By Toby Trigger

Posted: January 2, 2016

As it usually happens every year  District 2 closed one week after District 1 for the hunting and trapping of bobcats.

The total harvest in district 1 was 275 out of 275 bobcats and the total harvest (as of Jan 1st) was 167 out of 180.

The FWP creates a pending status about 48 hours prior to the closure date to allow time for trappers to pull traps and hounds men  to learn of the status change.

Pending status is set based on numerous factors including past experience, weather and other indicators.

If you’re a bobcat hunter, you still have a chance to harvest a bobcat this season but you’ll have to move on to D-3,4,5,6 or 7.

Good luck!
