Mountain lion hunting closes in several Region 1 and 3 districts

The hunting of mountain lions in several Montana hunting districts in Region’s 1 and 3, closed or to close at one-half hour after sunset:

Closed to hunting of female mountain lions:

  • HD’s 323, 324, 325 & 327 – which includes portions of Beaverhead and Madison counties closed Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016;

Closed to hunting of all mountain lions:

  • HD’s 319 & 341 – which includes portions of Deer Lodge and Silver Bow counties closed on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016;

Will close to hunting of male mountain lions:

  • HD 101 – which includes portions of Lincoln and Flathead counties, will close on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016.
  • HD 122 – which includes portions of Flathead, Sanders, and Lincoln counties, will close on Monday, January 04, 2016.

The closure notice for the hunt came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quota or sub-quota for the districts had been met.
