Today’s throwback Thursday photo is taken from the Mansfield Library’s files. It’s a photo of a fisherman with a bull trout, taken by Morton J. Elroad, founder of the University of Montana’s Flathead Lake Biological Station located near Bigfork, Montana.
The biological station has been a sentinel for the lake for more than a century. This photo is undated. Once plentiful, bull trout are now a protected species in many Montana watersheds, including Flathead Lake.
