Hunting:

Spring Turkey is almost over and ends on May 15th.  Spring Bear is also in full swing.

Fishing:

Little Blackfoot River: If you’re looking for some smaller water it’s a gorgeous place, water is coming down a little bit and is still a little of color.  For flies we’d recommend stonefly imitations and weighted nymph such as a Hare’s Ear, Czech Nymphs or Prince size 10-12.  Flies are coming off and with Mother’s Day this weekend it’s always worth trying out the Mother’s Day Caddis.

Canyon Ferry: Time to get your boat out! The walleye bite is picking up and the trout bite is hot.  For trout we’d recommend using worms, egg sucking leeches, PowerBait, egg patterns, and egg sacks. For Walleye we recommend tossing some cranks or jigs with perch (or fire tiger); worm harnesses are also starting to work. Early mornings and evenings try cruising out in the flats with cranks or worm harnesses above the duck ponds as Walleye are starting to get more active.

Hauser Lake: Walleye bite is on and jigging is the ticket.  We just got our leeches which should help with ripping into the lip of monster walleye.

Missouri River:  BWO’s are on fire right now and Caddis are also hanging around.  Water color is still decent.  Our Highlight flies right now for the Mo are: BWOs, Mother’s Day Caddis, March Browns, and some smaller terrestrials like beetles and ants.
