To fill a void in information on where to go, what to use and tips on the outdoors, Becky Edwards and two friends created the online group Montana Mountain Mamas three years ago. The idea was to provide a website with all of that information provided by other women, and to also create a way for those women to get together for hikes, ski and float trips. The group now has an email list of about 3,500 people, and as an expansion of their initial direction they’ve also become advocates for the future health of their children by supporting public access, clean air and water and reauthorization of the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
