Roaring Lion Fire 8.4.16

On my way to work this morning, the Roaring Lion Fire seemed to be calm and almost smoldering…but I am aware that is not the case, as at midnight while driving through Hamilton and back to Darby, the sky was clear…there seemed to be virtually no smoke. I could see stars for miles. But when we approached the fire, you could see the flames. It wasnt like the mountainside was all flames, but it was definitely still burning hot and very bright in some spots. The fire seemed to have moved west over the ridge, pushing a lot of the smoke that way. This morning, we found the smoke settling back in Hamilton and south of Hamilton.  Last I heard it was 7% contained and raging over 7,100 acres.  Again, thank you to all who are putting forth any effort to help with this fire. Our prayers are with all affected.

Here was the view from Old Darby Road in Darby before Como Rd this morning at 615am:
