Hunting:

General season opener for Deer and Elk is in full swing. Antelope, Pheasant, Grouse, Fall Turkey, and Partridge season are open, as well.  Duck and Goose are also open in both flyways and all zones—and with these cold weeks we should start seeing birds in the sky soon.  With rifle season underway, swing on into Bob Wards for all your hunting needs. We’ve got some great sales this weekend so come on in!

Fishing:

Canyon Ferry: The trout bite is okay and if you want to avoid some traffic (by way of waterfowl hunters) head up to the north end and chase some trout.  For walleye right now the game is about depth…with colder water temps walleye are going to be a bit deeper than they were a couple of months ago.  Definitely try and use heavier spinners or heavy jigs and try and stick to Perch or Firetiger patterns right now.

Helena Valley Reservoir: Snagging season is over now.

Missouri River: It’s a great time to try throwing some streamers on the Mo.  But you’ve got to really put in the time here to see some results. Sculpins are starting to fish well.  Depth has been kind of funny lately so we’d recommend testing out different depths.
