Fishing continues to be excellent in nearly all areas on the lake. Most fish are Rainbows in the 16″ to 20″ range with occasional Browns and some Whitefish in between. Anglers are reporting near limits on Tube Jigs, Maggots, and Maribou Jigs tipped with various Wax Worms, Night Crawlers etc. Fish are being caught in depths of water between 7′ and 20′ and are moving. The lake received a lot of snow last week so we are recommending against 4 wheelers as slush can be expected beyond 12″ deep.

Snowmobiles and Sleds and Snowshoes do very well. Ice thickness varies from 16″ to 20″ inches and is pretty consistent. Come enjoy Hebgen Lake at our NAIFC tournament this weekend. Info at: http://www.westyellowstoneicefishing.com/ .

Bring your kids to Kids Ice Camp on Saturday January 14. Ice Camp is a popular industry-leading youth education program that is open to the public, and free of charge.
