Helena Fishing Report

Canyon Ferry: Ice is about 15-17” south of silos   There are some fishing it and the bite seems to be good.  Swedish pimples tipped with Maggots or night crawlers are the ticket right now; jigging spoons of the bottom is also working pretty well. Goosebay has about 10”-12” of ice—fishing was a little bit slower than silos. Beaver Creek had about 9” of ice around the bluffs.

Georgetown:  It’s a bit more of a drive but fishing is pretty good right now with about at Badger and Red Bridge.  Lots also heading down to Comers fishing at 15-20 FOW.  Ice conditions are solid now.  Plenty of guys getting their limit on trout early in the morning and getting a couple of Kokanee later during mid-day.  Try throwing some small pink jigs tipped with some wax worms.

Hauser: Black Sandy is fishable with about 12-16” of ice right now and guys have been hooking up with Walleye and Perch.  We’d recommend some blue Swedish Pimples tipped with night crawlers about 10’ and chasing it up.

Holter: Ice is at about 9-10 inches or so and guys are starting to get the perch bite going.  Most guys are fishing deep at least 40 FOW up to 60 FOW.
