Montana Snowbowl, Discovery and Blacktail Mountain were all forced to close Monday due to extremely cold weather and wind.  The three areas will stay closed for Tuesday.  The weather service at Snowbowl recorded temps of -10 degrees Monday morning with 30 mph winds.  Some gusts were up to 56 mph making it feel like -43 degrees.

The forecast for Missoula shows the high to be 1 degree, which would hold the record if it does not warm up much more than that.  The lowest recorded high temperature for January 3rd was 3 degrees in 1959.
