FISHING:

Canyon Ferry: Ice around the shoreline has started to pull back a little bit with the warmer weather.  Lots of water on ice along the shoreline. There are access points and with single digit weather in the upcoming forecast ice should thicken again.  Fishing for trout is decent weather your laying a tip-up or jigging in about 20-35 FOW. Be cautious out there and pay close attention to ice conditions.

Hauser: Black Sandy is fishable with solid ice right now and guys have been hooking up with Walleye and Perch.  For guys looking for the Perch try fishing out from the campground in about 40-50 FOW.  If you’re after some trout lay lines about 10’ below the ice.  We’d recommend some blue Swedish Pimples or a red slender spoon tipped with night crawlers or a maggot about 10’ and chasing it up.

Holter: Ice is at about 12 inches or so and the perch bite is great.  Some reports of great perch fishing across from Log Gulch.  Most guys are fishing deep at least 40 FOW up to 70 FOW jigging a 1-2 feet off the bottom. We’d recommend jigging a Hali jig tipped with a maggot.  There are a few Ling to be caught out there as well.
