A recent news release by the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks announces a public hearing for a potential land acquisition in the Blackfoot Clearwater WMA.

FWP seeks public review of its proposal to acquire ~23 acres located just south of Woodworth Road and adjacent to the core of FWP’s Blackfoot Clearwater Wildlife Management Area (southeast of Seeley Lake in Missoula County). The purpose is to protect wetlands and a travel corridor for wildlife, block up the northern boundary of the WMA, and enhance compatible recreational opportunities and access for the public. A draft environmental assessment and management plan have been prepared describing this proposal.

FWP will hold a public hearing in Seeley Lake on March 15 (Wednesday) at 6:00 p.m. at the Seeley Lake Community Center (east side of MT Highway 83, immediately north of the town of Seeley Lake) to discuss the proposed acquisition and take public comment.
